Twice a year, local botanists and tree experts Joe Howard and Carole Bergmann, host a tour of Champion Trees in the County. This fall, the tour is October 21st. Touring old trees might not sound that exciting at first, but when you stand in the presence of some of the largest trees in the region, Joe and Carole, think you’ll be inspired. Plus it is a great way to explore some of the hidden treasures of the County.

In 2009, the Gazette produced a short video featuring Joe Howard. Watch the video.
As of October 16th, 4 spots still remained in the fall tour (Parks Course No. 296049). If you missed the opportunity for the fall 2014 tour, check the Montgomery Parks website in spring for their next trip to see the Champions!
