The Buy Nothing Project allows people and communities to narrow the single-use materials or stuff that have never been used to other working hands, through gifting and sharing between group members. Not only the items have not been thrown away but it can connect friendships between people who see each other every day. Leading to a strong and well put community.

The Buy Nothing Project uses social media like Facebook and other open sources. People create their own Buy Nothing Project for their neighbors.Their sources can open to new choices and possibilities. They also have a volunteer support group for the Buy Nothing Project Facebook groups.

There are a few rules you must follow for the Buy Nothing Project and these are: Post anything you’d like to give away, lend, or share among neighbors. Ask for anything you’d like to receive for free or borrow. Everything must
be legal. No hate speech. No buying or selling, no trades or bartering, this network is strictly a gift economy!

Don’t you want to join the Buy Nothing Project in your area?

I will post this to the Nextdoor Peachwood chat room. I’d love to do this, better than a yard sale. I have boxes of books, household items and some new toss pillows. Can we “trade” these items if we wipe them with wipes? I certainly hope so! I’m in.
