Montgomery County is partnering with Climate Stories Project to offer a virtual three-part training program this summer to help you tell your story and carry out interviews and share others’ stories. The goal is to amplify the rich diversity of voices and perspectives in our community and stimulate creative climate solutions.

Become a Climate Stories Ambassador

  • Concerned about climate change and how it impacts you and your community?
  • Want your voice and the voices of your neighbors, friends and relatives to be heard?
  • Want to inspire solutions that improve health, resiliency, the environment, and overall quality of life?
  • Excited about your own story and interviewing others to tell their climate stories?

 

Benefits of becoming a Climate Stories Ambassador:

  • Understand the impacts of climate change on your community and the importance of storytelling to promote community-based solutions
  • Learn techniques for writing, recording, and editing stories
  • Learn how to plan and write your own story and interview others to capture their climate stories
  • Gain valuable environmental communication and advocacy skills
  • Earn $100 for each selected story you submit (up to $300)

 

Trainees must participate in all three online sessions and receive one-on-one editing assistance from Climate Stories Project:

  • Saturday, July 31st at 10:00 am
  • Thursday, August 12th at 7:00 pm
  • Tuesday, August 24th at 7:00 pm
  • One-on-one editing support for each story (date and time to be determined by trainee and Climate Stories Project staff)

Applicants must live in Montgomery County, MD.

    Hi, your application form for climate storytelling has some errors: the timing for the application and sessions is off – first session on July 21 is before the applicants will be informed of them being chosen on July 26.
    Also, I could not submit a full reply to why I would love to participate as the form allows 100 symbols only, although the instructions say 100 Words.

    I would like to study, climate change because. I’m interested to learn how. It will effect humans an insects for years to come.
