Do you have great ideas to help protect our environment?

This Earth Month, we need your ideas to help us protect our environment.

Through the Climate Action Plan, the County is hoping to lower the impact of climate change. Please send us words, phrases or a sentence that will inspire your neighbors to take action on simple climate solutions.

Example Solutions:

• • • • • • • • Use less energy
              • Sign up for county alert notification system
              • Eat more fruits and vegetables
              • Take alternative forms of transportation, such as bicycles, buses and walking.

Some of your ideas may be used for a local campaign and will make  an impact on climate action in our community.

County residents are invited to submit entries through THIS FORM, email: DEP.contests@montgomerycountymd.gov,  or in person at at these upcoming events:

  • Gaithersburg Fix It Fair 
  • True Respite Earth Day Market
  • Town of Chevy Chase Spring Trash & Treasures 

Want to Submit Your Idea? 

Do you have a fun, short sentence that will inspire your neighbors to take action?

If so, submit your suggestions through THIS FORM or email DEP.contests@montgomerycountymd.gov by Friday, May 27, 2022.

We are accepting submissions in multiple languages including: English, Spanish, Amharic, Korean, Vietnamese, French, Mandarin, and others.

Your ideas will have an impact on climate action in your community and if your idea leads to a tagline or slogan for our campaign, we will provide you with credit (if you want) and a fun environmentally friendly goodie bag – so you will need to share your email address with us.

We will be meeting in June to go through all of the entries.
