Mischief is afoot at your local library! The library’s electricity is missing, and we need your help to find out what happened. It’s time to gather our magnifying glasses and brush off our searching skills as we set off on an adventure to solve the case of the missing electricity!
With the summer reading theme “All Together Now”, detectives from ages 5-12 can work together to help discover the fate of the library’s electricity all while learning about different energy sources, environmental justice, and how to conserve energy at home. Participants can expect to solve puzzles, play games, and make crafts as they overcome harrowing plot twists and red herrings to figure out this classic who dunnit.
Our adventure will be led by high school students from the P.O.W.E.R (Peer Outreach With Energy Resources) program who have worked all year to prepare this interactive energy story.
P.O.W.E.R, now in its 5th year, is a collaborative program between the Department of Environmental Protection and Audubon Naturalist Society. Through the program, MCPS high school students learn about energy sources, conservation, and efficiency and practice public speaking and storytelling to engage our community.
So join us in an hour packed to the brim with energy! Participants will learn about energy sources, electrical appliances, efficiency and conservation, and exciting renewable solutions—and earn fun prizes for catching the culprit.

What an awesome program!
I hope it is well attended. How about major tv networks doing a piece on this summer happening?! Also the Washington Post Thurs and Friday magazines or metro section?!
