Earth Month 2018 Events

Friday, April 6: Backyard Composting Demonstration Workshop and Compost Bin Distribution Event from 4pm – 7pm. Meadowside Nature Center, 5100 Meadowside Lane, Rockville Sat, April 7:  
  • Volunteer Watershed Clean-ups from 9am – 11:30am. Meet at E. Light Drive and Oakview Drive, Silver Spring. RSVP by emailing leslie.wilcox@montgomerycountymd.gov
  • Organic Lawn Care at the Silver Spring Farmers Market from 9am to 1pm. DEP will be at the Urban Master Gardeners Table to answer questions and provide information about Organic Lawn Care—be sure to stop by just in time for mowing season to start!

For Montgomery County residents only.   Sat, April 14:   Thurs, April 18: FrogWatch Field Training: Discover frogs and toads of the County at Meadowside Nature Center.   Thurs, April 19:  
  • Screening of the documentary film Wasted: The Story of Food Waste followed by discussion and Q&A with local food waste experts. 7pm at the Landmark Theaters Bethesda Row, 7235 Woodmont Avenue, Bethesda. Buy tickets here.
  • Learn about the Frogs and Toads of Montgomery County from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Meadowside Nature Center, 5100 Meadowside Ln, Rockville. RSVP by emailing ana.arriaza@montgomerycountymd.gov

  • RainScapes: Make and Take a Rain Barrel Workshop from 10am to 1pm. Dayspring Silent Retreat Center, 11301 Neelsville Church Rd. Register here.

The Montgomery County GreenFest is back in Silver Spring! For 2018, we’re returning to Jesup Blair Local Park right next to Montgomery College.  We hope you’ll join the party.
