Olney Days Free Paper Shred & Electronics Recycling & Donation Event

At Sandy Spring Bank (17801 Georgia Ave – parking lot behind the building) Event is free but donations are always appreciated to offset the weekend’s expenses. Choose 2 Reuse will collect both new and worn clothes, blankets, linens, towels, shoes, and household good (artwork, frames, utensils, kitchenware, toys, instruments).  The items are then sold in the overseas market in countries that are in need of these items.  They also donate a portion of the collected pounds to Olney Civic Fund which helps offset some of the expenses of the event. So time to clean out your closets and bring the items here. Solid State Recyclers will be on site to recycle e-waste.

Montgomery Energy Connection will be there to collect incandescent and compact fluorescent bulbs – bring as many as you want, we will provide up to 3 LEDs per person. 

Electronic Recycling, acceptable items include:

• computers (desktop & towers), servers, hard drives, circuit boards, UPS battery backups, flat screen monitors, printers
• DVD players, VCRs
• modems
• electric motors, rechargeable batteries (lithium ion or NiCad)
• cell phones
• video games
• cords.
• Limit: 3 boxes or 3 large bags or equivalent. Please – no newspapers​. Please no TVs.
