Eleventh Annual Kites Over Clarksburg
The Eleventh Annual “Kites Over Clarksburg” day will be sponsored by the Clarksburg Foundation, Inc. in conjunction with the Department of Parks (M-NCPPC). This kite festival will be held on Saturday, March 30th, 2019 from 11 AM until 2 PM at Ovid Hazen Wells Park on Skylark Road, Clarksburg. This event is free of charge. There will be craft activities for non-kite-flying children, games, activities, and a raffle. Participants will receive one raffle ticket for each canned good, eyeglasses or hearing aids that they donate. Donations of canned goods will benefit local Food Banks and donation of unused eyeglasses will be collected for the benefit of the Clarksburg Lions Club. Companies and organizations serving Clarksburg will be participating as exhibitors throughout the day.
There is no registration fee for participants, but contributions to the food drive are encouraged. Supplies are limited and on a first come basis.
Sponsors and Exhibitors are sought for this event. Donations will go toward printing of programs, purchase of supplies and advertising the event. Service organizations are welcome. All Sponsors will be acknowledged in the program, and throughout the event, so early registration is requested. Registrations and entries must be received by March 18th.
Exhibitors to set up by 9:30 AM on the day of the event, by the pavilions located at the upper end of the ball fields. All exhibitors are responsible for providing their own tables/chairs/tents and any required Montgomery County permits. There is no electricity or water connection available on site. (Sponsors are welcome to come and hand out literature, coupons and meet and greet the public – with registration. If you want to do something extra you will need to acquire the appropriate permits from Montgomery County and permission from the Clarksburg kites committee.) Donating a raffle prize will get your business or organization extra advertising at the kite festival as the raffle is a featured event that will be announced and advertised heavily at site.
