National Clean Energy Week is a celebration of the policies, industries, and innovations that power our daily lives while producing no or very little greenhouse gas emissions.
As part of Clean Energy Week 2021, the Lighten Up lemonade stand will be at various locations throughout the County. All of these locations support clean energy in some way.
Monday, September 20, 2021 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Holiday Park Senior Center, 3950 Ferrara Drive, Wheaton
Holiday Park Senior Center has a solar installation car canopy system. Not only does it generate clean, low-cost energy, it also provides shade and weather protection for County residents using the facility. This system has 1376 solar panels installed and provides 440,520 kilowatt hours annually. That is the equivalent of powering 35 homes, keeping 70 cars off the road, and planting 8,496 trees.
