This is the second in a 3-part series on Community Solar Basics.
Community solar offers the benefit of solar to those who can’t, or prefer not to, install solar panels on their homes. It enable individuals, businesses, or organizations to purchase or subscribe to “share” in a community solar project. If you join a community solar project, you receive a credit on your electric bill each month for the energy produced by your share.
In episode 1, we covered how community solar works and offered consumer-focused tips on participating.
In this episode, we’ll take a closer look at how community solar programs happen. From legislatively mandated to utility-driven, what is it, how can these programs differ, and why it matters to you.
