Looking for fun activities for your kids? Or how about a new wildlife documentary film screening? Or maybe, a workshop on gardening or bike repair? Our calendar features upcoming community events for those who enjoy a mix of outdoors, activism, creativity, and learning.
“This fall, the County’s Residential Energy Program has partnered with local Senior Centers to celebrate “Active Aging Week”. This is a collaborative effort with MCDEP and the county senior centers to celebrate the change in season and reduce energy use in the home.
Montgomery Energy Connection will be partnering with various senior centers to provide residents with LED light bulbs. During the pop-up events, participants are asked to bring in their old incandescent or CFL light bulbs. In exchange, we provide up to 3 FREE LEDs. We will also have an informational table and giveaways for participants.
As part of Active Aging Week, all Active Adults are entitled to a Fit Kit! The Fit Kit has been created to give you tools to help make your life more active – a water bottle, fanny pack, pedometer and other goodies will be included. Fit Kits will be distributed at the food distribution program and at the Fit Kit and LED Pop Up sites…so please come visit us and pick you your Fit Kit!
We look forward to seeing you there!
