Looking for fun activities for your kids? Or how about a new wildlife documentary film screening? Or maybe, a workshop on gardening or bike repair? Our calendar features upcoming community events for those who enjoy a mix of outdoors, activism, creativity, and learning.
Dear fellow students and residents of Montgomery County,
Join Earth&Mind on Wednesday, August 17 at 7 PM on Zoom to discuss how expanding composting and compost use locally can address food waste disposal with our special guest speaker, Director of Composting for Community Project from the Institute for Local Self-Reliance (ILSR), Brenda Platt! Student participants will also be eligible for SSL hours.
What you will gain from this event…
1. Where your yard trimmings and food scraps go and the push to divert wasted food from disposal
2. The basics of how to compost, what the process entails and the benefits
3. How you can start composting or support local composting efforts
Join us on August 17!
