Montgomery County declared a climate emergency in 2017. With this declaration, the county pledged to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 80% by 2027. It plans to achieve 100% elimination of emissions by 2035.I’d like you to join us to learn about a policy to help the county meet these goals.
Solar United Neighbors is hosting a webinar with the support from the MD Solar Democracy & Equity Collaborative on Thursday, January 21. We’ll discuss a new report that shows the benefits of requiring solar energy on all new single-family homes in the county.
Arjun Makhijani, Ph.D., President of Institute for Energy and Environmental Research (IEER), authored the report. He’ll join us to discuss its findings. This will be a great opportunity to learn and ask questions.
