Looking for fun activities for your kids? Or how about a new wildlife documentary film screening? Or maybe, a workshop on gardening or bike repair? Our calendar features upcoming community events for those who enjoy a mix of outdoors, activism, creativity, and learning. All event submissions are reviewed for relevancy and accuracy and are posted within 24-48 hours Monday-Friday.
Join Montgomery Parks in recognizing Martin Luther King Jr. Day through a volunteer park cleanup. Help beautify your community green spaces, keep litter out of our streams, and protect wildlife.
Clean-ups will take place in multiple locations throughout the county from Saturday, January 15 through Saturday, January 22.
Volunteers must wear close-toed shoes/boots, long pants, clothes that can get dirty, and bring a reusable water bottle. Montgomery Parks will provide bags, gloves, and trash grabbers. Additional details will be sent closer to the cleanup events.
Student Service Learning (SSL) hour forms will be provided at each event. Children under 14 years old must be accompanied by a registered parent/guardian.
All volunteers must register in advance and be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Volunteers are not required to wear a mask unless they cannot be six feet apart from others.
