SUMMARY:Building a Climate Resilient Maryland Together
DESCRIPTION:The State of Maryland and the Netherlands have a long-standing cooperation empowering communities to become resilient\, to prepare for climate change impacts\, and to work in an integrated manner to reduce vulnerabilities. Both regions are expected to be affected by seasonal droughts and heat waves\, frequent thunderstorms\, an increased risk of flooding\, and sea level rise. Maryland and the Netherlands are working together with communities and partners to proactively implement adaptation strategies and are eager to build on the close ties between these regions to exchange lessons learned and best practices\, and collaborate closer together on these topics. \nMEMA\, Maryland Commerce\, and the Netherlands Water Partnership are organizing a joint Maryland-Netherlands event on Tuesday\, January 26 about climate resilience. There will be 3 main sessions and 3 breakout sessions that cover a variety of topics and environments (cities\, small towns / rural\, and coastal). One of the main goals is to provide networking opportunities between Dutch and Maryland experts\, to help increase the collaboration between the two regions. The sessions will be interactive with opportunities to chat and network. \nInfo & registration: https://www.netherlandswaterpartnership.com/events/building-climate-resilient-maryland-together  \nAudience on the Maryland side is expected to include: floodplain managers\, county emergency managers\, organizations & partners that work with MEMA\, environmental groups\, landscape architects\, planners\, elected officials\, academia/researchers\, companies\, MD USACE\, relevant associations and climate action alliances\, etc.

SUMMARY:EPA invites EJ advocates to participate in the relaunched National EJ Public Engagement Calls
DESCRIPTION:About this Event \nThe purpose of these calls is to inform the public about EPA’s environmental justice work and enhance opportunities to maintain an open dialogue with environmental justice advocates. Pre-registration is highly suggested\, but not required. If registration has reached capacity\, please see the links below for instructions on how to access the call if seating is available on the day of the meeting.
