WISE Battery is commercializing the innovations of Professor Chunsheng Wang at the University of Maryland. Dr. Wang is the Robert Franklin and Frances Riggs Wright Distinguished Chair of the Department of Chemical Engineering. He is also the UMD Director of the Center for Research in Extreme Batteries. Dr. Wang’s work has been featured in Nature, Science, Joule, and other prestigious engineering and science journals.
The MEIA startup team will initially focus on commercializing water in salt electrolyte (WISE) to support non-defense applications.
