The Institute for Market Transformation (IMT) seeks a dynamic individual to join our program team to drive market adoption of decarbonized, high-performing buildings. The Manager of Building Energy Codes and Policy will contribute significantly to one or more of IMT’s areas of work, including the implementation of IMT’s energy codes strategy and the adoption of decarbonization policy in achieving climate and equity goals. The Manager reports to the Associate Director for Codes and Technical Strategy and works collaboratively throughout the organization.
The Manager will support IMT and the Energy Efficient Codes Coalition (EECC), a project under IMT, in the effort to increase energy efficiency and facilitate decarbonization of the built environment through the intersection of codes and building performance policy. The individual is not required to have direct experience in building codes, but should have a basic understanding of the building design and construction process. The role will provide an exciting opportunity to learn about, and actively participate in, the code development and adoption processes that will dictate the energy efficiency of new construction throughout the US. This role will also include involvement in Building Performance Standards (BPS) policy development and implementation, specifically in regards to the relationship between codes and BPS as they apply to new and recently constructed buildings. Ideal candidates will be enthusiastic about making connections and promoting innovative ideas about how to achieve decarbonization and help local and state governments in meeting their climate goals.
