Solar United Neighbors, a national 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is seeking a Program Director to grow our Maryland program.
Giving a large, diverse number of people a financial stake in the clean energy economy will make them fight for it. That’s why we help people go solar, join together, and fight for their energy rights. Solar United Neighbors operates state programs in a dozen states including Maryland. Each of our state programs features three key pillars: deployment, engagement, and policy advocacy.
The Maryland Program Director will implement our solar deployment work (in particular, solar co-ops and community solar education) across the state. They will conduct extensive on-the-ground communications, engagement, and policy projects. This will be done in collaboration with our D.C.-based cross-cutting support staff. These projects are designed to help Maryland residents invest in and shape the state’s energy system. We believe in a distributed model of leadership. We train and empower local leaders. The Maryland Program Director supports these efforts.
The Maryland Program Director will collaborate with back-office co-op coordinators on the day-to-day implementation of co-ops. They will work with our communications, engagement, membership, and advocacy teams where appropriate. The Program Director will be responsible for hosting information meetings and meeting with co-op members. This will include evening meetings and extensive travel throughout Maryland.
The salary range is $45,000 to $65,000, with benefits, including health insurance, 403(b) retirement account, professional development, generous leave, remote work options, and flexible work hours.
