Montgomery College has an immediate need for a full-time Energy Conservation Manager in the Facilities – Central Administration department, Central Services Building in Rockville.
This position serves as the program manager for the College’s energy conservation program. The incumbent advises senior management on college procedures regarding energy management and implements strategies to reduce the consumption of energy. Work assignments are received as directives and the employee independently initiates activities, including surveys, audits, and consultation with customers on energy efficiency matters, to identify potential problems.
As the subject matter expert on energy conservation, the Energy Conservation Manager analyzes and evaluates energy use by the College and institutes measures including design and construction of appurtenances and/or facilities, energy conservation practices, and maintenance procedures for building equipment and systems to further the program. Follows industry standards and applies technical engineering principles and concepts to a wide range of energy situations with full technical responsibility for results. Completed work is reviewed for applicability in meeting the needs of the College and the reduction of energy usage.
