The Building People, LLC, has a position open for a full-time Senior Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Specialist on the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Solar Energy Technologies Office (SETO) communications team. The communications team is a creative, high-performing team at the Energy Department, and leads campaigns to support the rapid adoption of solar energy across the country to achieve 100% clean energy. Although the office is currently 100% telework, the position will be based in Washington D.C. when DOE begins Phase 3 of its COVID response (date TBD).This senior communications role is responsible for developing and executing campaigns to promote solar deployment, advance new technologies, and communicate research successes. Using a variety of tactics and strategies, this person will cultivate relationships with industry stakeholders and media, and elevate awareness of office activities to internal and external stakeholders. The position requires collaboration with technical managers, program managers, and National Laboratories to identify solar research achievements that can be conveyed through various communication channels.

The Senior Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Specialist will be part of a team that helps communicate the office’s mission, activities, and goals externally and internally. Examples of the team’s work include DOE’s Summer of Solar campaign, the Solar Futures Study launch, and the JEDI in the Solar Industry webinar.
