SUMMARY:Civic Responsibility and Community Engagement for Collective Good: Climate Change Resilience\, Sustainable Environment and Commonwealth
DESCRIPTION:Introduction and Program Overview \nAs the decade unfolds\, citizens\, local communities\, states\, industry and the commonwealth of the American nation face growing threats from unsustainable environmental pollution\, global warming and climate change. While these shared threats are global in scale and scope\, individual civic responsibility and community engagement historically serve as the foundation for local\, state\, regional\, national and international action for the common good in America. At the present time\, local\, state and federal government agencies and essential public utility water and electricity companies are using climate/ environmental/ and management sciences in the public interest\, to protect the collective good. In this regard\, local governments\, municipalities\, mayors (Climate Mayors)\, state governors (United States Climate Alliance)\, universities\, business and industry organizations are working with national and international science based regulatory agencies and global industry standards bodies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions\, and environmental pollution. \nIn turn\, governments\, citizens\, states\, faith congregations\, universities\, business and industry are working to protect the collective good\, natural environment and commonwealth of local communities\, the American nation – and the global community. However\, civic responsibility and community engagement in America requires higher moral and universal spiritual principles to strengthen cooperation for local\, state\, national and global climate resilience\, sustainable environment and commonwealth. Therefore\, moral and universal spiritual faith principles are needed to build unity and strengthen civic and community engagement – at the local level\, within states and across the American nation. \nCollective action for climate change resilience\, sustainable environment and commonwealth is now based on clean water\, renewable energy transition\, environmental protection and natural resource conservation. We invite you participate in our public program on civic responsibility and local community engagement for climate resilience\, sustainable environment and commonwealth. In the program\, the guest speakers and audience will discuss the following issues and themes; local government programs\, essential public utility company contribution for safe clean water\, scientific tools and standards\, business/industry technologies\, and the moral and spiritual foundations of climate change resilience\, sustainable environments and commonwealth – at the local\, state\, regional\, national and global levels. \nDate: Sunday\, November 7\, 2021 Time: 3:00pm-5:00pm /US Eastern Standard Time\nVirtual Zoom Program: Free Registration\nGuest Speakers: Stan Edwards\, Chief of Division for Energy\, Climate\, & Compliance\, Montgomery County\, Maryland-Department of Environmental Protection\nJodi Rose\, Executive Director\, Interfaith Partners for the Chesapeake\nWSSC Water – TBD\nIan Hamilton\, Climate and Environment Specialist\, U.S. Baha’i’ Office of Public Affairs of the United States\nReba Carruth–Program Moderator-Adjunct Professor\, Georgetown University
