RainScapes are watershed friendly ways to slow, absorb, clean and reduce rainfall runoff from roofs, walkways, driveways, and compacted lawns. Rain gardens, rain barrels, cisterns, green roofs, permeable pavements and conservation landscapes are common RainScape projects. Along with helping to reduce drainage and prevent stormwater pollution and erosion, RainScapes reduce energy and water consumption, create wildlife habitat, improved air quality and beautify landscapes.
Montgomery County’s RainScapes Rewards Rebate Program offers rebates to property owners who install RainScapes. Residential, commercial, HOA, congregation, and multi-family properties are all eligible for rebates. After you install RainScapes, you may also be eligible for up to 80% credit off your yearly property tax bill. Please note: those living in the cities of Rockville, Gaithersburg, and Takoma Park are not eligible for rebates, but those municipalities have their own stormwater management programs.
RainScapes can be installed on any kind of property! Be the trendsetter in your neighborhood—install a RainScapes project and motivate your neighbors to do the same!
