Shop Maryland ENERGY Weekend
Shop Maryland Energy Weekend is an annual three-day period in February when Maryland’s sales and use tax does not apply to the sale of solar water heaters and certain EENERGY STAR products.
Shop Maryland Energy Weekend 2024 begins at 12:01 a.m. Saturday, February 17 and continues through 11:59 p.m. Monday, February 19, 2024.
What can you buy tax-free during Shop Maryland Energy Weekend?
ENERGY STAR products or solar water heaters that are listed as exempt will not be subject to sales and use tax during Shop Maryland Energy Weekend, whether the item is new or used.
The sales and use tax does not apply to solar water heater or to the following products Energy Star products during Shop Maryland Energy weekend:
• air conditioners
• clothes washers
• clothes dryers
• furnaces
• heat pumps
• standard size refrigerators
• compact fluorescent light bulbs
• dehumidifiers
• boilers
• programmable thermostats
