In celebration of October Energy Action Month, we are excited to offer the Montgomery County community this electrifying, fast-paced 15-minute trivia game to test your knowledge while learning fun facts! Don’t know much about energy? No problem! Play, learn, and WIN!

Energize with 15 in Fifteen trivia games will be played during the month of October every Tuesday at 12:30pm and Thursday at 5:30pm on Zoom. Play to win one of 3 energy prize packs per game! Sorry, only Montgomery County residents are eligible to play. Participants and households can only win once per week.

OFFICIAL RULES

Introduction

This webpage describes the official rules (“Official Rules”) of the ‘Energize with 15 in Fifteen!’ trivia game organized by the Department of Environmental Protection (“DEP”) and Montgomery Energy Connection (“MEC”), (the “Game”).

The object of this game is to provide Montgomery County residents the opportunity to connect with their community and have access to an energy and MCDEP expert. ‘Energize with 15 in Fifteen!’ is a virtual event intended to continue after the kick-off during energy month. The ultimate goal is to gain additional residents to visit the MEC website and follow MEC’s newsletter and Instagram account in order to educate and incentivize residents to make reducing energy usage at home a habit, ultimately keeping more money in their pockets. Information on how to enter and about the prizes is part of these Official Rules. To the extent of any inconsistency, these Official Rules prevail.

Definitions

• “Zoom” means the platform for the virtual game. All game registrations are hosted through Zoom and will allow the participant to join the virtual game.
• “CrowdPurr” means the platform that will be visited while on the Zoom video call to play the trivia game. Participants will be directed to CrowdPurr once they log in to Zoom to create a Nickname and provide their email address.
• “Energy Prize Pack” means a gift bag of variable MEC promotional items as a prize for being one of the 3 highest scoring players per game.
• “Participant” means the individual who participates in the trivia game under the terms of this Game.

Eligibility

1. The Game is open to Montgomery County residents only. The Game is not open to companies, educational institutions, organizations, etc. or to groups associated with such institutions.
2. Participants must be of sufficient legal age and standing to enter into a contract with DEP and MEC as required below.

How to PLAY

• Visit MyGreenMontgomery.org/2020/trivia for complete details, rules, and event registration links.
• ‘Energize with 15 in Fifteen!’ will be played every Tuesday at 12:30pm and Thursday at 5:30pm during the month of October.
• Participants will select preferred trivia game times/dates and click on the provided Zoom links to register to play. Play more than once.
• Once Participant is logged in to play on Zoom, they will be directed to CrowdPurr to create a Nickname and share their email address.
• The Game moderator will guide the participants through the trivia game experience and questions.
• MCDEP and MEC experts will be on hand during the game to provide fun facts and answer any questions participants may have.
• Game time is approximately 15 minutes.
• The 3 Participants with the highest scores on CrowdPurr at the end of the game will each win an energy prize pack.
• Winning Participants will be contacted via email to mail out their prize pack.
• Participants and/or households can only win once per week.
• The 3 winners will be announced and congratulated on the MEC Instagram account on the day following each trivia game and pending approval from each winner.
• There is no fee to play the game.

Prizes

Subject to the legal requirements outlined above, the top 3 highest score winners on CrowdPurr will receive via mail:

1. Energy prize pack
2. A congratulations announcement on the MEC Instagram account

Acceptance

Participation constitutes the Participant’s full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules. By participating in the Game, the Participant is representing and warranting that he/she/they has read and understood, and agrees to be bound by, these rules. Including the guides and rules referred to herein, these Official Rules constitute the entire agreement between the Participant, DEP and MEC in relation to the Game. They govern the Participant’s participation and supersede any prior or other agreements between the Participant, DEP and MEC and relating to the Game.
