Find out everything you need to know about how to get solar installed on your home or business’s roof. Now until August 30 there’s a special opportunity to participate in the Capital Area Solar Switch group solar purchase program and get a group discount. Other credits and financing available. Electric vehicle charger and battery storage options can be included. The future looks bright when you invest in solar!

Why should you participate in Capital Area Solar Switch?

In addition to competitive pricing on solar panels, you get:

  • Information to help you understand solar. Solar United Neighbors is comprised of vendor-neutral solar experts who are here to help you understand how solar works and make the best decision for your energy needs. They also provide resources if you’re considering installing an electric vehicle charger or adding battery storage to your solar installation.
  • A direct line to ask specific questions. You can call or email Solar United Neighbors anytime with questions, comments, and/or concerns you may have regarding the process. Their team is available throughout the entire process.
  • A team that solicits and reviews proposals from solar companies. This year, iChoosr will be assisting Solar United Neighbors to help with the reverse auction process. The idea behind group buying is simple – a group has more bargaining power than an individual does on their own. iChoosr organizes a reverse auction and invites qualified, pre-vetted providers to compete for your business. The provider(s) that offer the lowest bid win the auction.
  • To be part of a community. Once you join Capital Area Solar Switch, you join the growing solar movement. As a member, you will have a built-in network of support and inspiration from others who, like you, are taking a stand for energy freedom and advancing the clean energy economy.
  • Make a bigger impact! Going solar creates jobs, and puts energy production and its benefits back in the hands of the people and contributes to cleaner air and water for everyone. A solar co-op amplifies those outcomes exponentially and now, you are part of that!

How do you participate in Capital Area Solar Switch?

Step 1: Simple registration – free and without obligation

You can register online for our group purchasing/switching programs by filling in your contact details and some basic information about your current energy usage and/or costs. Registration is free and there is no obligation to purchase solar panels. REGISTER HERE.

Step 2: Auction for a Contractor

The Capital Area Solar Switch program will organize a reverse auction and invites qualified, pre-vetted providers to compete for your business. The provider(s) that offer the lowest bid win the auction.

Step 3: Personal Offer

Once the installer(s) are chosen, you will receive an email with a personal offer about the winning provider, the costs, and your potential savings.

Step 4: You Decide

You decide whether or not to accept the offer – it’s completely up to you. If you choose, to move forward with the process, the program asks you to provide a 100% refundable deposit of $150. When your solar installation is complete, the money will go toward the cost of the installation. If you pay the deposit but at any time decide to opt out of the program, the money is completely refundable. And if you have any questions, you can contact the Capital Area Solar Switch team.

Step 5: Start Saving

If you accept the offer, Capital Area Solar Switch will share your contact information to the winning provider.
